Anterior row of eyes a little, but distinctly, wider than the posterior central row ....... Paradossenus. Tinus. Thaumasia. Uesydrus. Trechalea. Syntrechalea. B. Anterior row of eyes much wider than the posterior central row, as wide as the posterior lateral row .................................................. Thanatidius. Note.- (1) The number of protarsal spines in some species of Trechalea are difficult to locate, and the character is thus rendered less valuable. (2) One cannot be quite certain that Thanatidius has been correct^ identified. (3) Tinus is closely allied to Drances Simon, but the latter has, according to this author, no apical pair of spines beneath tibia i. and ii., while they are present in the former. The name Drauces (not Drances) was used by Champion for Coleoptera in 1889. (4) In the Biologia Centr.-Amer., Arach. Aran. ii. p. 312, I have referred the species Uesydrus jullieni Simon to Enna O. P.-Cambr. on the ground that they have the characters, the tarsi flexible and central posterior eyes 2 diameters apart, in common. This genus therefore comprises Simon's Uesydrus Sect. 2 a, while Uesydrus, as here diagnosed, comprises his Uesydrus Sect. 1 a. Genus Thaumasia Perty. Del. Arn'm. Art. Bras. p. 192 (1833).
