This list of 69 genera, although incomplete, shows the Neotropical P^egion to be far the richest of all in point of numbers. Moreover, all are peculiar to the Region except Pachylomerus, which occurs also in the Sonoran and Mediterranean RegOi ons *: Idiops, which is also met with in Africa, India, and the Mediterranean Region; and Hermcicha, Aporoptychus, possibly Bolostromus, Evagrus, and Ischnothele, which have been recorded from Africa, the last-named also from Madagascar and India. So too the family Paratropidae is confined to the Region; the Mecicobothriidae exist elsewhere only in the Sonoran Region ; and the Actinopodidie only in Australia. |
