Ahote grabbed his broken sandal strap and forced Chua's hands behind his back to tie them. v ^ He wound the leather strap tightly around Chua's wrists. Pain shot from msv wrists through his entire body. Chua tried to wrench away, but Ahote held on to him. "Better still, take me to your mother," Ahote said. "Leave her alone," Chua said. "Ahhhhhhhh, You disobedient boy," Ahote tightened the grip on his wrists and forced him up the ladder. When they reached the top, he raised his hand to strike Chua again.
