Even though the seeds of the wild sunflower are small, they can be eaten, and used to make pottery paint. Yucca leaves can be used to weave baskets or sandals. Petals of the flowers can be eaten as salads. In the fall the stalk has large seedpods full of black seeds that can be eaten or ground in to flower for cakes |
