COST OF CONSTRUCTING, OPERATING, AND MAINTAINING THE PROJECT The cost of constructing the project to June 30, 1964, is reflected in the following attached financial exhibits: Exhibit A-Comparative balance sheets at June 30, 1964, and June 30, 1963. Exhibit B-Statement of source and application of funds and other credits as of June 30, 1964. Exhibit A sets forth comparatively the financial condition of the project at June 30, 1964, and June 30, 1963. The cumulative funds and other credits available to the project at June 30, 1964, and the manner in which such funds and credits were used or applied are set forth on exhibit B. Highlights of certain of the major activities are set forth in the following paragraphs: Curecanti Storage Unit, Colorado The Curecanti unit, located in west-central Colorado, is one of four authorized storage units of the Colorado River Storage project. The main project features include Blue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystal Dams, powerplants, and switchyards. The primary purposes of the unit are regulation and storage of floodflows of the Gunnison River and generation of hydroelectric power from three powerplants with a combined nameplate rating of 200,000 kilowatts. Work continued on construction of the Blue Mesa Dam and powerplant (63 percent completed), on the relocation of U. S. Highway No. 50 (88 percent completed), on relocation of telephone, telegraph, and REA powerlines, and on the relocation of County 117 |
