Show COLORADO b. Dolores Project A feasibility report has been approved by the Secretary of the Interior and transmitted to the President through the Bureau of the Budget on September 22, 1965. The Ute Mountain Tribal Council on July 21, 1965, passed a resolution asking to participate in the project. 2. UNDER FEASIBILITY INVESTIGATIONS COLORADO a. Dallas Creek Project A proposed feasibility report on the Dallas Creek Project was submitted to the Commissioner in April 1965. The project will develop water of the Uncompahgre River and tributaries. It will provide a full irrigation supply for 14,900 acres of new land and a supplemental supply for 13,720 acres now inadequately irrigated. The project will also provide 15,000 acre-feet annually for municipal and industrial uses, as well as benefits to recreation, fisheries, and flood control. b. San Miguel Project Modifications in the plan to improve feasibility of the San Miguel Project are nearing completion. Feasibility designs and estimates have been finished. Financial and economic analyses and preparation of a proposed feasibility report are in progress. The report will be completed later in fiscal year 1966. c. West Divide Project Preparation of a proposed feasibility report and supporting appendices is underway. The proposed feasibility report will be completed in 1966. d. Yellow Jacket Project The plan presently under consideration for the Yellow Jacket Project would use White River water for development of lands only in the White River Basin. The project would also include a small portion of the lands in the Axial Basin in the vicinity of Milk Creek which would be served from surplus flows of Milk Creek 98 |
