OCR Text 358 CHAPTER AN AUT to incorporate Pleasant Grove city Sec Beit enacted by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Utah That all that district of Utah county embraced in the following boun Boundaries of daries to wit beginning at the south east corner of orporation Lake city mrorporauon running insouth easterly direction along the lake shore to the north west corner of the corporation of Provo city thence east to the base of the mountain thence along the base of the mountain to the south bank of the American creek near the mouth of the kanyon thence down the south bank of said creek topoint directly north of the north east corner of Lake city corperation thence south to the place of heginning shali be known and designated Body corporate as Pleasant Grove city and the inhabitants thereof are-hereby constitutedbody corporate and politic by the name aforesaid and shall have perpetual succession and may have and usecommon Benl seal which they may change and alter at pleasure The inhabitants of said city by the name Corporate rowand8c style aforesaid shall have power to sue and be ora sued to plead and be impleaded defend and be defended in all courts of law and equity and in all actions whatsover to purchase receive and hold property real and personal in said city to purchase receive and hold real property beyond the city for buryi ing grounds or other public purposes for the inhabitants of said city tosell lease convey or disposc of property real and personal for the benefit of said cily to improve and protect such property and to do all other things in relation thereto as natural persons Sec There shall be acity council to consist ofa mayor four aldermen and nine councilors who shall ity Councit have the quahxuons of electors of said city and shall be chosen by the qualified yvoters thereof and shall hold their offices for two years and until their The city Term of office successors shall be elected and qualified council shall judge of the qualifications elcctions and returns of their own members andmajority of them shall Majority form formquorum to do business butsmaller number may adjourn from day to day and compel the atiend2 quorum Digital image 2005 J Quinney College of Law Al rights reserved
