Show 6933 Chaffin- D 4921 we made a trip to Good hope with it and got a load of lumber and supplies and mining equipment and came back. Q Have any difficulty getting up? A Well, at times the engine would quit us, we would have to monkey with it to get it to go again, but we used the engine , the power of the engine, all the way, practically, go-ing to Good Hope. Q Did you make any trips with the Lucy B. to Hanson creek or to Moquie bar? A Yes sir, we made a trip to Moquie bar and got some rails and things and came back with the Lucy B. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q This boat you have just been describing with the automobile engine was not the Lucy B., was it? A Yes sir. Q Sure of that? A I am, absolutely. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Mr. Bennett described two boats, one built in 1901 and one in 1902; the 1902 one was built with the automobile engine. MR. FARNSWORTH: Did you give either one of them a name? |
