Resolved, That the said committee be further authorized to draw from the treasury of the United States, through Joseph L. He/pwood, Marshal of the United States, for the Territory of Utah, any sum not exceeding two hnndreij dollars, in order to carry into effect the above resolution. Librarian to Resolved, That the office of Librarian is hereby created e^furu*efo*^or *^e ^err^ory °f Utah, whose duty it shall be to pre- Hbmry. ~ serve, and keep to their legitimate purpose all the books said papers of the Library of the Territory, under a bond of five thousand dollars, to be approved by the Governor, and filed in the office of the Secretary of the Territory. outyof libra- Resolved, That it shall further be the duty of said Li-najj. brarian to keep, disburse, and control all books, papers, maps, charts, globes, and apparatus, &c, &c, that now do, or hereafter may belong1 lo the library of the Territory of LTtah, subject to the control, discretion, and direction of the Legislative Assembly, and make report of his doings from time to time to the legislature as shall by them be required. Gor. appoint Resolved, That the Governor is hereby authorized to appoint a Librarian for the Territory of Utah, and remove the same at discretion. Approved Oct, 4, 1851. BESOLUTTON IN RELATION TO ELECTION OF TWELVE SELECT MEN, OR REFEREES. ofs&- Resolved, by the Governor and Legislative Assembly of tht a. Territory of Utah, That it shall be lawful for each organized county to elect a council of twelve Select men as Referees, whose duty it shall be to decide all cases in litiga- £jon which may come before them by the mutual consent of the parties interested; and their decision in all cases so
