Show OHI Isaac Rose 23 July 82 sl:lS he'd joinedthe Congregation of B ' nai Israel, he was we~cing the head cover. Later on, a lot of other people were wearing head covers, too. And after the merger we had, they still alternated services because we didn't have a new building. Well, we had in our laws the rules of the house had to prevail. In other words, if f/ I you came to Montefoire , you had to wear a !J~I77t-I.A If-€ even if you came from the other congregation. But when you come to B'nai Israel, you were suppoed to 'not' wear one. But we did wear one to this one. We figured this is now a united congregation, the building doesn't matter , we still have to wear it. And I do wear it. After themerger, I guess he [Dornbush] resigned from everything--resigned altogether--bescause with only one congrega-tion [they still c1ose to sell] broscht, fish and everything else. That's the things that he used to carry in his store. He has now liquidated the business. He's no longer in the business. He alternates between Salt Lake City, Santa Monica, and LaJolla. I was under the impiression at one time that he moved <!1"/-/t)e.y frNJI' But it turned out that he still has a house here. And he just travels back and forth . He has a daughter my son ' s age. They went to school together. They went to Sunday school or religious I school together. She married some piPe~ . in California. SF There is a rurnour or I have heard some say that part of his dif-ficulty withfue community was becuase he was a capo. IR Well, I don't know. I never heard this. |
