Show Births to Adolescents (Ages 15-19) Pregnant teenagers are less likely to receive early prenatal care than other pregnant women and are more likely to give birth to low birth weight babies. While Utah remains below the U.S. in the percentage of births to adolescents, the ratio between the two is narrowing significantly. While the U.S. percentage of births to adolescents has decreased since 1980, Utah's percentage in 1993 is the same as it was in 1981. Thus, the ratio Utah to U.S. births to adolescents has risen from 0.71:1 to 0.84:1 in just over 10 years. Table 92.
