Centers for Disease Control, HTV/AIDS surveillance data cumulative totals from 1981-May 1995. Data are provisional. 2. Utah Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS, AIDS data collected from 1983 through June 30,1995. HTV became re-portable 4/24/89. HTV statistics do not include persons tested anonymously. Data are provisional. Percentage may not equal 100 because of rounding. 3. Cases with more than one risk factor are tabulated only in the category listed first. 4. For the US data only, "other " refers to 17 health-care workers who developed AIDS after occupational exposure to HTV-infected blood, as documented by evidence of seroconversion. "Undetermine" refers to patients whose mode of exposure to HTV is unknown. This includes patients under investigation; patients who died, were lost to follow-up, refused interview; and patients whose mode of exposure to HIV remains undetermined after investigation. 5. Includes all patients under 13 years of age at time of diagnosis. 6. Epidemiologic data suggest transmission from an infected mother to her fetus or infant during the perinatal period. 7. Total may fluctuate as HIV infections become AIDS cases and are counted under AIDS cases. 24 HIV/AIDS in Utah |
