I trust that this will explain the delay in sending y-:u a word of acknowledgment. I hasten to send these belated few lines to thank you for your eonfldene®, and trust that the eirena-stances of my rather unsettled life at present will enable m to pre** sent you with a abort report on the subject nevertheless. As you nay know, ay tens of offiaa as Consultant to the library of Congress has eon© to an end, m& 1 am now continually swing from one university to another across the whole country* This iseans that 1 shall have te carry tha project with ae and read it piecemeal during'ny travels. It may necessarily be a long business, but 1 will do it with pleasure in due course, though I must ask your indulgence for any delay ispoeed by the circ^sstancee of tmsettlefflent* 1 as quite impressed by the. prejeet as a project and 1 share with you the opinion that, if it is going to be done, it mist be well done and with tha least possible shortcomings. This type of work is rone only once in a lifatina, an? great care should therefore be taken that it must ful-filfiall our expectations. If tin* allows ae to call on you during ay occasional short visits te Washington for a discussion on the subject, I will not fail do do so with pleasure. This work" comes within the category of the love of labor for the enhancement of science and scholarship, and I therefore feel it is ay duty not to shrink from the underteking, lours very sincerely, ASAtsa Aaia S# Atiya |
