Dear Mr. Atiya: Arrangements have been made for you and Mrs. Atiya to visit the Whittier School at 5th and Sheridan Streets, N. ¥., on Tuesday, February 20. Miss Elsie Green, the Principal, is expecting you and will be glad to conduct you in a visit in the kindergarten and elementary classes and discuss the program with you. Mr. Nelson, the First Assistant Superintendent in charge of Senior High Schools, has arranged with Mr. Hoover, Principal of Coolidge High School, for you to visit there the same day. You will find that the Coolidge High School is just across the street from the Whittier School so that it will be very convenient to go from the one school to the other. This letter will serve as an introduction to Miss Green and to Mr. Hoover. Under separate cover, I am sending you a copy of a Reading Curriculum Bulletin and the Mathematics Curriculum for the secondary schools as examples of materials published in our curriculum department. You may keep these. If you wish additional materials, we will be glad to have your request.
