GXNTLEMEXH: aving been appointed hy the Preaident cornnliasioners to seoore the ratifioation of the agreement with the Ute Indisusof Colorado and to exeoute the provisions of the ssme, you are directed to proceed immediately to the Loa Pinos Agency in said State, aud confer with 0ur.y aud other leading men of the Ute Nation, as to the best methods to be pltrsued in seourlnv the assent of the Ute people to said agreement, as set forth io the act of Congress e z i t l ~ d"A u act to aooept and ratlfp the agreement submitted by the confederated bands of Ute Indians in Colorado for the sale of their reservation in said State, and for other purposes, and to make the neces-sary appropriations to carry out the s&me," which said act is iuclosed herewith and made s. part of these iostrubtionu.
