Description Janes Hansen died in Mount Pleasant on 12 September 1899. His brother, Bent Hansen, Sr., bad purchased the first buggy hearse used in the city, and James* was the first corpse to be taken in it to the cemetery.1-> Thus a life of service and nusic for his family and the people of Mount Pleasant was ended. About three miles west of Mount Pleasant a grove of lorn- bardy poplars had been planted near where James' last house had been-after Brigham Young instructed him to become a farmer, one talent he was never able to really develop. In that grove a dance hall was built, one much used by the people of the area for many years.
