Show ~iption of the HABS/HAER Checklist '!he HABSjHAER checklist is sorted alP1abetically by state, county cede, city or tCM1I1 name and record name. '!he state is irrlicated by the first two characters of the HABS or HAER number. '!hese characters are the standard abbreviations for states, carnrronwealths am territories. '!he counties are sorted by the three digit FIPS county co:ie, hONeVer, it is the county name that a}:P8ClrS in the checklist. Generally the counties are listed al~tically, but there are states that have :rrunicipalities outside of counties. '!hese states include Marylam, Missouri, Nevada and Virginia. Look to the errl of the state's list~ for the above states to firrl larger cities, e. g.; carson City is at the errl of the Nevada listin3'. '!here is a page break at the errl of each state list~. '!he structure name is listed as "RECNAME" for record name. Also on this line is the Library of Co~ shelf co:ie, which is assigned by the Library after the doa..nta1tation has been transmitted fran the HABSjHAER office. '!he Secorrlary Nane fields appear on the next two lines (SNAMEDNE, SNAME."IID, SNAMITHREE, SNAMEFCUR). '!hese fields contain any secorrlary names, c::armrents or other arnplifyin3' infonnation. '!he type, arrount and location of the doa..nta1tation is foun::1 on the right side of the checklist. '!here are two possible locations for the doa..nta1tation; the HABSjHAER office (HH) or the Prints and Rlotographs Division of the Library of Co~ (I.e). An "X" is placed in the colUIIU1 belo;..r "HH" or "I.e" to irrlicate the location of the doa..nta1tation. It is possible for doa..nta1tation to be foun::1 in both locations as supplezrental doa..nta1ts are acquired by the HABSjHAER office. '!he numbers in the columns labelled "01M3", "fHOI''' am "DATA" irrlicate the numbers of drawin3's, photos and data pages respectively. |
