Show 26. CHAPTER II The next day was Saturday? The miners were in a good mood when they came home from screening; a l l of them always vtalked the four miles to Blue Burg Saturday night a f t e r supper. Just as they were finishing their coffee. Bill suddenly thought; what would he do with the baby tonight? CoulriMt leave him alone, couldn't take him. Bill loved his Saturday nights. Each week, they weighed out the gold they'd screened, and each man took his share. Tonight was going to be a r e a l l y big night because they had the baby's bag to weigh and divide. He looked a t Dad, "Will you stay with the baby tonight for half my share of t h is week's take?" Dad shook his head. "Not for a l l of i t ." "Olaf?1 B i l l asked, " I ' l l bring you back a bottle to boot?" Olaf said, "I c a n ' t wait Bill-haven't a drop l e f t ." "Sunny? You're savin' to get married?" "Ahhhh B i l l . I don't know nothin* about babies'*--- besides a l l I've been thinking of t h i s whole miserable da£ was going to Blue Burg and seeing the guys.^" That l e f t only Weasel, Lunch-mouth and Tiny.
