Show 1027 between Greenriver, Utah, and its confluence with the Colorado; If the water " runs faster it is not deeper." R. 2445. Redirect Examination. ( R. Vol. 13, pp. 2445- 2448) The Stanton dredge was not in operation when he first went into Glen Canyon. R. 2445. In his work in 1915 Mr. Seaboldt used four horses and in taking supplies down the river a trail which parallels the river on the west side, was used. He has been in the habit of saying that he was working for Mr. Seaboldt, because it was Mr. Seaboldt's ground they were testing, but Mr. Evans was the engineer in charge, and the man who paid him for his work. He was general all around man, and acted as a boatman for them. R. 2446- 2447. Mrs. Seaboldt was at the camp for about two months during these operations, and she went down the river from Hite to Good Hope Bar in a boat with him, and she rode out from the Good Hope Bar on horseback. " Q Mr. Loper, are there any other trails along the Colorado river in Glen canyon where a horse could be ridden outside of this one you have mentioned? " A There is one from Red canyon to Hite, you leave the river five or six miles before you get to Hite, and come back down White canyon." R. 2447- 2448. |
