Mathews, Registrar, The University ofB ritish Columbia, V ncouver, called attention to the official invitation of said University for a representative of the University of Utah to attend the Inauguration of Universit y Buildings at Point Gray on October 15-16, 1925, and asked tha t a representative be appointed. On motion of Regent Wolfe the President was authorized to eypoint es the represent ative of the University some alumnus residing in the vicinity of Van couver. The following letter from C. N. Jensen, State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Chairman of the State Boerd of Education was presented: honorable Boerd of Regents, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. Ladies and Gentlemen: The question as to the desirability of unifying the summer school activities of the higher educational institutions of the state, with a vies of eliminating unnecessary duplication, if such there be, was brought to the attention of the State Board of Edqution at its meeting of August 28th. The Board considered this euestion of far- reaching importance. It directed no to bring this matter to the attention of the Board of Regents of the University and the Board of Trustees of the Agricultural College for the purpose of ascertaining their views as to the desirability of ceiling a conjoint conference of the Boards or regresenta- tives of these Boards in connection with the State Board of Education for a consideration of this question. If your Board would be agreeable to considering this letter at such e conference I shall then be pleased to call a seating at such time and place as may be convenient to the Boards concerned. In this connection may I call your attention to the added res onsihilities placed upon the St te Board of Education by the Leg: Legislature. Chapter 75, L-‘i‘ws of Ute-h, 1925, makes |
