Show PART VI FRAMEWORK PLAN AND ALTERNATIVES Industrial activity Thermal-electric Power Development By 2020 additional plants will be installed with a capacity of 1+0,820 megawatts, bringing the total installed, capacity to 1+2,08l megawatts of thermal-electric power. Several small plants will be retired during the development period. Table 9 shows the location and size of these power installations and retirements from the system. Minerals Increased development of mineral fuels, primarily petroleum and ura- nium together with bulk metal and nonmetal production of phosphate, potash, molybdenum, and trona is foreseen. Coal production will be adequate to meet needs for thermal-power generation. Oil shale and other synthetic fuel developments are not included in the framework plan.
