Show D TI TO B R 12 20 o we go back and I briefed all the squad leaders. Okay h r the plan. nd during the middle of this there's some, I don't know some commotion about a trail r full of ammo that's on fire. Do you remember? JCW: No. DS: I don't remember this really, but Master Sergeant Cross and First Sergeant Lopez are frickin doing a two-man assault on this supposed enemy position of a trailer out in a field. I remember this all going on in the background, but I don't really remember what was going on (laughs). And I remember Major K yelling at them about it because they're idiots. So they started this trailer on fire. So we're sitting there watching this whole trailer incident go down as I'm talking to the squad leaders, laying out the battle plan. I'm like, "Okay, I'll be in the lead truck with 1st squad. Second squad you'll follow and then 3rd squad in the tail," I think. "We're going to move to this football field and we need to secure this football field. We'll be moving in as a company, but we'll lead in, we're going to take this into the field and then secure it. Then we'll be moving out on foot patrol." I laid out the plan, gave them the good five-paragraph order as best I could as a frag-o. We went and started doing our pre-combat checks and everybody checked out everything. We issued out extra AT4s, we issued out everything we were going to need. I issued, I put the SMAW section, one SMAW section with Wright, one SMAW section with Spencer and that was Reeves and Strow went with Wright. Then Sergeant Hardy, the machine gun team leader, went with Sergeant Edwards. I think those were the extra weapons we had with us. Then we loaded up on AT4s and we loaded up in the trucks and we started moving. It was like zero-eight when we started rolling. 79 |
