Show DU TI E TON P MB R 12 2009 coming with us and it was a company base of fire we were s tting in. We xp ct d a fullon assault into this town and we were told to clear the town. So we started with Fox Company in the lead, 1st Platoon in the lead. I was in the lead truck and I had corporal Wright move up to squad leader take my old position. There was one building that needed to be secured before we could get through across the bridge and that building was an old Ba'ath Party house. We had punched forward, dropped off my squad and Captain Gauguin. Don't know how the fuck that came into the battle plan, but Captain Gauguin led this little-he didn't lead it because Corporal Wright was the one leading it, but they led an assault on this house and moved in there. They did an awesome job and they found all sorts of intelligence and weapons and a huge cache, the biggest weapons cache we'd found and the biggest intelligence cache up to this point. They didn't have any enemy or anything like that, but they cleared the building and did a really excellent job. The rest of us had tanks in the lead and us right behind the tanks. Tanks moved across the bridge, set up, we moved behind them, deployed, jumped out, everybody got online. We watched Echo Company come across the bridge and gaggle fuck like no tomorrow. They were a total cluster fuck. The rest of the company was laid out and I don't remember how it exactly played out, but 2nd Platoon and 3rd Platoon starting taking, clearing buildings right in front of us. So as our platoon provided base of fire, we moved across the road, they started clearing buildings and they were clearing buildings and then we moved in behind them and started clearing buildings after that. We never did see any combat or any enemy in there. We arrested a bunch of guys that looked the right age, the right mentality, but we never got anything. 61 |
