Show Robert . Irion pt mb r 20'h 2002 am ar a. I m an not exactly the same area but in that area below Hamburg again. nd he leading his flight and I'm leading the flight behind him. And here comes one coming straight at us, a jet, it comes out; well, thi day, the clouds were- have you seen an early morning around a coastal area or any area really. Where a fog or cloud bank will rise off the ground up about 1,000 feet and then starts breaking up and it becomes what I call "little houses with gaps in between ' and there's a layer of it, but it starts breaking up into little pieces? Well, that's what this cloud layer was doing there. And this plane comes busting out of this cloud layer coming right at us and he saw us, turned right back, did a 180 degree turn and went right back into the cloud layer. BEN: Another jet? ROB: Yeah a German jet. He turns right back into the cloud layer and loses us by going into the cloud layer. Well, the clouds were so sparse and thin and all and Harry says, "You stay up on top. I'll stay down below. And if he comes out on top you get him; I'll get him down here." The guy comes up and starts to make a pass up to the right. He's pulling up in a chandelle like that and I went after him; I didn't get a shot at him but he saw uspsshew! Right back down into the clouds. Goes a little further and he pulls up again to the left. This time I got a shot at him, but as you can see on the film, it's just a pssshew! When the airplane was going by, I was shooting at a high angle. I didn't get it. 99 |
