Show Robert . Irion ptember 20'h 2 02 ROB: There an exhilaration. Yeah I have to admit it, you get a certain high wh n y u can really do some damage to something that's an enemy weapon there. When your going after it your heart beats faster, your blood pressure probably goes up, you get a pounding and it's a high. BEN: Have you hit trains? ROB: Oh, yeah! BEN: Any ones that stand out? ROB: Well, probably the first one I hit made me think about it more because I thought, "Wow, here I am a railroad man and I am out here shooting at trains as one of the first things I'm shooting at!" BEN: Did you ever get the boiler? ROB: Yeah. Yeah. I did on one. I've got some tape if you want to look at it, but we'll go back to your things here. BEN: How about getting hit from things exploding, is that a worry or not, do you know? Getting hit by your own ordinance? ROB: Yeah, yeah. I have one real good friend died just this last year that, before I got to the group, about a month before I got there, they went down and strafed a train and he picked out a couple of cars in this thing that, evidently, were loaded with ammunition. And it blew sky high! He said, "All I can see is wheels, car parts, everything, flying by in front of me." And of course some of them would hit him, too. And he's flying into a ball of fire that caught part of his surfaces on fire. Burned the fabric off of them. He had things like that happening to him. 87 |
