My dear Brother: <br> On November 30th, I mailed you two checks signed by myself, one of them for $100.00, from my wife, was payable to you for* your salary. The other $100.00 was payable to Mr. Peyton for salaries. As I have received no receipt for the same, I fear that the letter has gone astray. If you have not received it please let me know at once that I may stop payment on the checks. <br> I am arranging to spend a Sabbath in January in Auburn in behalf of the College, and will, of course, see the Misses Willard and try to explain matters to them. I understand that Rev. Mr. McCreery, while making addresses in favor of the amendment is also looking out for wealthy individuals whom* he can reach in the interests of the College. <br> Parties collecting money at the present time state that there seems to be an unusual backwardness on the part of people in responding. <br> I have been recently making addresses in New Haven and enclose you a plat of the location of the University Buildings <br><br><br> * handwritten inserts in the original typewritten document <br><br>
