Show -2- <br> I wish the board could appoint an executive committee for special work; and if they see fit, appoint General Eaton and myself as a committee on the Washington property. Mr. Quincy Eaton, the agent of the trustees, had a fair cash offer for the D Street property which the trustees are anxious to get rid of, and he telegraphed to Salt Lake City to know whether he should close the bargain; the answer received was "accept with conditions", without stating the conditions. That of course gave him no information upon which he could go forward and act. The result is he may lose the sale through the delay on the part of the trustees; if they had an executive board they could meet any time, as there would be few of them to get together and they would all be in Salt Lake City. <br><br> Very truly yours, <br> Sheldon Jackson* <br> General Agent, &c. <br><br><br> * handwritten inserts in the original typewritten document <br><br> |
