McNiece, D.D., <br> 1248 Blaine Ave., <br> Salt Lake City, Utah. <br><br> My dear Dr. McNiece: <br> Since leaving Salt Lake City, I have been giving much thought to the meeting of the Trustees last Thursday night, and the drift of the conversation with regard to Dr. Gordon's movements as Financial Agent of the college, and I wish to make the following suggestions to you, to be brought before the Board of Trustees at its next meeting, it if meets with your approval: <br> I do not think that it would be safe to transmit all the books, papers and vouchers from Washington to Salt Lake City, as if anything should happen to them it might make great confusion, but for this summer I would suggest the same that I recommended on Thursday evening, that your Auditing Committee request Gen. Eaton to secure an expert auditor and let him go a good ways towards paying an expert auditor at Washington. Then next winter, if the Auditing Committee desire it, I can be added to the Committee with Gen. Eaton for having the books audited. <br> Now with regard to the work of the Financial Agent at Washington, I have this to suggest: <br> That while he should make frequent reports to the Board of Trustees, yet I do not think it advisable that he should be required to* ask permission every time that he wishes to do anything towards developing the college property. <br><br><br> * handwritten inserts in the original typewritten document <br><br> |
