C.O.P.Y. <br><br> Dear Dr. Jackson: <br> Now that the engagements in Erie Presbytery are over and you have returned to your accustomed place and work I have had time to think it all over and should have written you when in Titusville but my sister came the day you left my home (Tuesday 15th). She was immediately attacked with a severe case of "grippe" requiring daily visits from our physician---so my time has been as much occupied as my own limited strength would permit, for I still have a sufficient supply of the wretched disease to make me feel unequal to much that is even depending on me. <br> I have been deeply concerned about you for you seemed so ill the day you left. Will you tell me exactly what you feel about the trip---was it all satisfactory to you? As I look back I see how it might have been much more successfully carried out. My impression was from Dr. Eaton's messages to me that the canvass would not be made until after the Intinerary was closed---but it may be just as it is---for in all the churches there seems to be a very earnest deep interest stirred and no doubt the College will reap great good in the future from this effort though not what it now needs. I shall make an effort to secure help financially from some for those here who did not respond and also elsewhere in the Presbytery. I shall do something myself. I did not speak of this to you---whenever it came to my mind other subjects were being discussed but mine will be an annual gift it will not be what I would love to give for I would establish the work of that College in the midst of that sin stained part of our delightsome land if I could, but I always remember that there are two ways of counting money. We reckon by dollars and cents - God weighs in the balance and in his hand many hundreds shrivel and <br><br>
