Show Page 2- In Iron County, there is urgent need for Flood Control work on . Coal Creek, Fiddlers Cruek, Walkers Creek, and Summit Creek; and some additional work is needed at Parowan and at Red Creek* In Iron County, it is estimated that the work required would consume the time of two hundred men with adequate equipment over a period of six months o I hare not named all of the streams which need attention, and the estimate is really low in comparison to the needs* Moving on to the North and West, the great area of Public Domain and State Lands, which are used as winter range, calls for a vast amount of work In order to put them in shape for the adequate control of flood waters- this calls for an adequate system of dams for checking the floods in deep arroyos, and spreading works to carry the surplus water out onto the flat range lands where the moisture Is needed for plant production* It is also urgent that numerous small reservoirs be built for small watering purposes. To adequately cover the ground would require the service of at least six hundred men over a period of one year, together with adequate equipment © In Millard and Juab Counties, flood Control works are needed, which would consume the service of two hundred men over a period of six monthso In Tooele County, Flood protection is urgently required at four or more of the small communities; these include Oquirrb and Orantsyille? as well as the Vernon Valley0 At Salt Lake City there is urgent need for Flood protection near Beck* a Hot Springs, and In the area immediately south; also, along the foothills near Parley's Canyon; also, at Magna and vicinityo Oils would require the work of two hundred men over a period of six months0 Additional work is required at Salina, both on Salina Creek and on Denmark Wash, and near Glenwood in Sevier County* In Carbon and Emery Counties, there is need for additional ^ lood Control worko Up to date these counties have received no assistance n In San Juan County, there is urgent need for additional work at Moab on Pack Creeko I hope that I have covered the ground in such a Way that it will be of some help to you in formulating your plans* Yours very truly, ( Signed) Lo M* Wlnsor Irrigation Engineer Bureau of AgriCe Sag. 209 Post Office Building LMW: NW |
