There are probably more than 300 independent irrigation ditches and systems in operation in the State which might hu consolidated under less than 150 companieso As an eitasple of what may be accomplished reference is made to the following consolidations: FIRST: At Daniel a tributary to Provo Biver 9 4 independent systems which serve adjacent or the same lands were consolidated into one; thus eliminating 3 subdivisions * SECOND: At Spring City 8 subdivisions drawing water from 8 river systems were consolidated into 1 mutual company and 1 class of stock was issued in the new systemo THIRD: At Cedar City 7 subdivisions of the Coal Creek system were consolidated into lo FOURTH: At Woodruff 16 independent ditches drawing water from the same source were consolidated Into 1 and the new company has concentrated on the development of a supplemental reservoir to retain surplus flood waters in the spring and supplement the deficient supply in midsummero FIFTH: At Vernal in Ashley Valley 2 companies were consolidated into 1 and the system of delivery was changed from continuous delivery to the rotation system. |
