The reports are submitted as a first step in the surrey of the water resources and their utilization of this stateo Until much more materiel has been gathered no recommendations in regard to development of these resources can be made* E » In regard to water storage your attention is called to the proposal mode in this division that large scale region. il plans be made on which all drainage areas are shown, together with proposed reservoir sites, canals, proposed drainage, together with studies in regard to the use of land, city extension, etOo Such n regional plan is now being proposed for the Salt Lake City- Qgden region* This region includes the proposed diking project on the Great Salt Lake0 3* Your attention is called to the memorandum of Mr. L « Mo Winaor in regard to the need of elimination of duplioate canals and ditches, drainage of water logged land, etCe A great deal of simplification of canal systems has already been accomplished^ Much store work in this line must, however, be done and especially in the areas of greatest land values. Consolidation of oanals and ditches may be used as a means to . reduce maintenance cost.
