Show The development of ground water in water logged land is of great importance » The possibility of draining water out of land and agein use it for irrigation on adjoining land needs careful study for each areao Ibis type of water conservation may prove very beneficial in certain sections* ( See elso report Salt Lake- Ogden region*) The State of Utah owes much to the work of the U* S « Bureau of Reclamation* Projects such as the Strawberry, the Weber River and Echo Reservoir, the Hyrum project, the Pine Creek project and the Deer Creek and Sanpete projects as well as the Moon Lake projects are of tremendous value to the State* It is to be hoped that the Bureau will continue investigations on Utah Lake, on the Colorado River basin and may take an active interest in the drainage of the low lands around the Great Salt Lake. • Much flood control work has already been carried on, but much remains to be done* In connection with this your attention is called to the section of the Salt Lake regional plan referring to flood protection and reforestation* It is our intention to pres- i ant the problem of flood control in Utah graphically on the map of the State* The report on drouth relief in Utah prepared by the engineering division of the Ifinergenoy Relief Administration illustrates unusually sell the need for long range water planning in this state * A careful analysis of the drouth problems as presented in this report will be made in order to base on them proposals for reoommendationo on the uses of water resourceso |
