Show - 8- Question NOo 8 has been answered under the discussion on reservoirs* Question No » 9 is one which covers a wide range of conditions* Where water is available for irrigation ia the early part of the season it is my opinion that supplemental storage may be provided at an expense of even | 20Qo00 per acre foot, provided the conditions are suitable for developing intensive crops such as small fruits or a truck gardeno Th& amount which may consistently be spent depends quite entirely upon the kind of crop which may be grown* Furthermore, if conservation corps or relief labor can be used in developing storage reservoirs an expense of fS00o00 per acre foot would not be excessive even for providing supplemental water for the common farm crops where other water is used on highly productive lands. I trust that I have given you information which will help in formulating a policy for the State of Utah which will result in developing the State's resources to tfce fullest possible extento Yours very truly, y ( Signed) Lo Mo Winsor Irrigation Engineer |
