Description (1888 I) The twenty-eighth legislature in 1888 passed an act which formed a committee to compile all public acts, laws and resolutions in force in the territory. The compilation was to be systematically arranged, substantially bound, with marginal notes and proper index. The two volumes are arranged in parts, chapters, consecutively numbered paragraphs which are summarized at the beginning of each chapter, and sections. The index to Volume I is substantial and references page numbers. A general index covering both volumes is published in Volume II. A separate session law volume was published for 1888.

Description Township thirty-four (34) south,Range six (6) west; thence east to northeast corner of said township; thence north along thetownshiplinebetweenTownshipfive(5)and six (6) west, to the place of beginning, is hereby made and named Garfield attached to and made part of the Second Judicial District of diciai District, this Territory, and remains connected with Iron county for legislative representation. For the purpose of organizing OflM1| et& Garfield county the following officers are hereby appointed: James Henrie, probate judge; Andrew P. Schow, Jra Elmer and Jesse W. Crosby, selectmen; who shall qualify by taking an oath of office to faithfully perform the duties thereof. They shall hold said office until the first annual election, and until their successors shall be elected and qualified. They Duties, etc. shall commence the duties of their offices by proceeding, on or before the first Monday in May, 1882, to organize and to appoint a clerk, and an assessor and collector, and such other officers as may be necessary to serve until the regular election. They shall establish the boundaries of precincts and designate voting places, and appoint judges of -election, and ducted according to the laws of the Territory: Provided, votera need That at said first election the voters need not be registered as *£*,*S&. required by law. At said first election candidates for all highest number of votes shall be entitled to serve the term Act takes 5 84. s 5.
