Description (1888 I) The twenty-eighth legislature in 1888 passed an act which formed a committee to compile all public acts, laws and resolutions in force in the territory. The compilation was to be systematically arranged, substantially bound, with marginal notes and proper index. The two volumes are arranged in parts, chapters, consecutively numbered paragraphs which are summarized at the beginning of each chapter, and sections. The index to Volume I is substantial and references page numbers. A general index covering both volumes is published in Volume II. A separate session law volume was published for 1888.

(m» Said librarian shall hold hia office during *¦ the term of four years, and until his successor ia elected and ' qualified, unlesa sooner superseded by legislative election; faithful discharge of hia duties, in the sum of six thousand dollars with approved aecurity, to the acceptance of the auditor of public accounts, which bonds ahall be filed in his act in his stead under the same restrictions as the principal § 1875. <1S9> It shall be the duty of the librarian to cause to be printed at as early a date as practicable, a full and accurate catalogue of all books, maps, globes, charts, papers, said library; also to uae diligent efforta to preserve from waste, loss or damage, any portion of said library. § 1876. (1B0) It shall be the duty of the librarian, for and in behalf of the Territory of Utah, to plant suits, collect fines, prosecute or defend the interests of said library, or otherwise act as a legal plaintiff or defendant in behalf of the § 1877. <»> The location of the library shall be at the seat of government of the Territory of Utah; and it ahall be ' orderly and properly arranged within the library room, for
