Show Staff The Staff of the Naval Science Department has a dual responsibility: they must present the Midshipmen with the knowledge required by Naval Officers, and they must by example show these young men how Naval Officers live and act. They instruct in Naval Orientation and History, Ordnance and Gunnery, Navigation and Piloting, Naval Operations, and Leadership; they assist in drills, act as chaperones for social functions, and in general aid in every way possible the preparation of each Midshipman for his duties as a Naval or Marine Officer. The commissioned, enlisted, and civilian members of the staff keep the Naval Science Department a smoothly running organization.
