Show Debate Assistant Coach Bob Mukai, and student managers: Gerri Mukai, Laurel Thatcher, Woody Moyle, and Peggy Turner. Senior manager Ellen Gun-nell was absent from the picture. With what was probably the largest squad in the United States, the "U" can be proud of what was also one of the best all-around squads in the debate business. Headed by Coach George A. Adamson, who was awarded a special citation this year for his contribution to the Rocky Mountain Speech Tournament at Denver, this hard-working group learned to accept the inevitable disappointments, but still managed to bring home their share of the "spoils." Trips to Oregon, California, Arizona, Colorado, and several eastern meets were important on this year's debate agenda to not only afford veteran debators the chance to defend their reputations, but to give new debators the opportunity to put all their study and practice to work.
