Show Calendar Committee Major and minor campus activities constituted the basis for the ASUU Calendar and provided the work for the Calendar Committee. This committee, with Barbara Hill supervising, started their work of organization during the summer and then worked throughout Fall and Winter quarters to put out the quarterly Calendar which served as a schedule of activities for the "U" studentbody. The calendar was a collection of all athletic events, dances, theatre presentations, tests, rush dates, lectures, and musical activities from which we formulated our own schedules. This committee collected the information that it felt would be most helpful and interesting to the beginning Freshman students, and organized it into the 1956 Freshman handbook. Hints for Studying, Traffic Rules and Regulations, and information concerning student government and publications, fraternities and sororities, activities, athletic schedules, a history of the University, and some of its traditions, were compiled to become one of the primary means by which the Class of 1960 became acquainted with the University of Utah.
