Show 67 6253 4245 Ross- C Q Do you remember the Navajo boat, Owned by Mr. Oppen-heimer? A The Navajo? I believe I recall that boat as Mr. Blake's, Blake and Johnson; Otherwise I don't recall that boat. Q I don't mean Owned by Mr. Oppenheimer; I mean the Navajo Owned by Mr. Wolverton. A I don't recall that boat. Q Do you remember a power boat he had by the name of the Colorado? A No, I don't. Q How many power boats did Mr. Wolverton have that you remember that he operated up and down the river? A The one I remember was called the Wilmont; possibly the name has been changed on that boat several times when it was remodeled. Q Mr. Ross, is familiarity with the Green river and with the Grand river, the old Grand river from Moab to the junction, of value to one who is going on the river? A Yes sir. Q Why is it off value? A Because you get kind of a system for judging the river, gauging the channel, the distance to sandbars, the depth of the water, the width of channels, practice the eye; the eye is trained to observe these things. |
