Show 72 6258 4250 Ross- C stretches of the river; don't seem to be any obstruction of sandbars,-- find it changed from one side entirely to the other side of the river in different years. Q Different years? A This year we will say the channel is on one side, be pretty straight through on the straight stretches of the river; next year we will possibly find it the reverse, on the other side of the river. Let me get it this way, is it a fact then that during a given season-- suppose you go down the river, make a round trip from Greenriver to the junction this year, generally speaking that channel as you find it on that trip will be the same all this year, will it not? A No, sir. Q Will it not be the same except there may be a One unusual flood at a side canyon: A You don't understand how that river acts; that sand is constantly cutting, even when the water is going down to its very lowest stage.-- even then it is cutting the high bars, the sand is changing, then as it cuts it changes the channel. Q Then the fact that you might have been going up and down that river during the months of June, July August and September would not help you at all if you had to go down in October? |
