A Well, there wasn't much load on it, what load we had would be just a little wood we picked up along, and our bedding and camp outfit; didn't weigh much. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Was the Black Eagle ever brought back to Greenriver? A I don't think it was ever brought back, -- not to my knowledge it wasn't. Q 1906 did you have another boat, or were you connected with the operation of a boat belonging to a man named Oppen-heimer? A Yes, there was another boat we had on the river there, Oppenheimer's boat, I believe. Q How large a boat was that? A That was a boat about six and a half foot beam, the width of it, twenty- seven feet long. Q How much draft? A Very light draft, maybe eight- inch draft. Q What kind of power did it have? A Fourteen- horsepower gasoline engine. |
