Show example, that the recent expansion at Hill Air Force Base north of Salt Lake City did not result from a decision made in Utah. Similarly, Export sector purchases are determined by decisions made outside of Utah. Hence, the level of sales of goods and services produced in Utah and sold to customers outside the state is the result of decisions made in other regions, or in the case of the two Federal Government sectors, in the economic and political climate of the nation as a whole. The Household sector, however, is a borderline case. Although the purchases here are for final consumption and not for further processing or resale, the Household sector provides direct inputs to the Processing sectors. Thus, for some purposes, the Household sector is considered as a Processing sector rather than as a final demand sector. Final Payments Sectors The final payments sectors differ from the 39 Processing sectors previously described in that the economic activities of these final payment sectors, like the final demand sectors, are not necessarily directly related to the economic climate of Utah. As indicated in the previous discussion of the final demand sectors, the Household sector is a borderline case. This is also included in the final payments sectors because of the nature of the services performed by-- and the nature of payments to -- household members. The payments to the Household sector include not only wage and salaries for the services of household members but also profits and government payments.
