Show Treating household consumption as a component of Final Demand, a second set of increased water demand projections were made. The detailed results using this second method are presented in Table 7, and a summary comparison of projections of increased water demand, output, and income is made in Table 8 Table 8 SUMMARY COMPARISON OF PROJECTED CHANGES 1963 to 1975 Households - - Endogenous vs. Exogenous 39 Sector Output ( Thousands of Dollars) 39 Sector Water Intake ( Millions of Gallons) Household Income ( Including Govt.) ( Thousands of Dollars) Households Endogenous 3,524,360 456,920 1,397,210 Households Exogenous 3,783,440 489,600 1,470,640 Per Cent Difference + 7.5 + 7.0 + 5.0 With the independently projected household consumption as part of Final Demand, the projected increase in the total output of the processing sectors was 7.5 per cent higher than the increase obtained when the Household was part of the endogenous system. Similarly, the increased demand for water intake was 7 per cent higher for the exogenous method of handling Households and house - hold income was 5 per cent higher. The systematically higher projections with Households as part of Final Demand result from the fact that projected final demand increases in Government, Exports and Capital Formation are too low to 46 |
