Two years of active duty and six years in a reserve unit faced us after graduation. We became experts at marching with straight ranks and with heads erect. We learned the manipulation of an army rifle, practiced shooting at targets until we became good marksmen. We cooperated with the naval and air force units to present the Combined Operations Prom. Motivating our activities was the desire to prepare to serve well as Army officers. 229 |
