Show Promoting school spirit and interest in campus activities was the purpose of the Student Participation Committee. Headed by Jack Baker, the committee included: First row: Sylvia Smedley, Millie Cook, Winston Faux, Bart Pyper, Bonnie Ryan, Dick McDonald. Second row: Duane Hodge, Albert Lundell, Ann Ballard, Eddyjo Ekker. Third row: Suzanne Call, Dwain Stufflebeam, Don Pauley, Jack Baker. Fourth row: Cherie Herman, Janet Shimoda, Clyde Coombs. The money collected in the Campus Chest drive was divided among various charity organizations. The money was collected through classroom drives, an Ugly man contest and the "Chest Fest." The committee consisted of Connie Hunsaker, chairman, Barbara Abbott, Edrie Allred, Floyd Astin, Gwen Bagley, Joyce Bush, Pat Bryan, Jean Chiverall, Jessie Cook, Carcol Corbett, Joan Gerber, Marilyn Hansen, Mary Kouris, Voeta Meadows, Pat Neal, Albert Peterson, Elizabeth Silver, Shirley Smith, Carol Synon, Dorothy Thatcher, Ann Wallace, Kerma Watson, Pat Winkler, Joan Wilcox. The band and cheerleaders sparked Ute enthusiasm at Kingsbury rallys before football games. This was one of many functions sponsored by the student participation committee. Spurs Janet Shimoda, Nancy Smith, Rehle Ellison and Eleanor Allen celebrated Valentine's Day with singing telegrams for the campus chest drive. 173 |
