Preparing ourselves for duty with the fleet was our principal responsibility. Long hours in the armory studying gunnery and fire control; movies on naval strategy; working with charts and maps in the navigation lab; and learning the intricate mechanisms of marine engines occupied our time during the fall and winter months. With spring came marching, parades, and inspections. Saturday morning drills prepared us for the Captain's review, the highlight of the year for the unit. We became ready to step into positions in the navy, prepared to carry on the highest traditions of the naval service. To the officers and men of the unit, headed by Captain R. N. S. Clark, went the thanks of the Midshipmen of the class of 1952. 233 |
