Show develop yields from a reservoir site, once storage is allocated at that site, rather than a sum of small yields from other streams where storage is not allocated. The solution for the reservoirs at the high annual demand levels ( 140,000 Acre- feet/ year) is similar to that obtained in Chapter 5, at a comparable level of demand on the reservoirs. It is worth reiterating at this point that the assumed groundwater costs for the applications described above are likely to be higher than the ' true' optimal groundwater costs. These observations lend further economic support to the need for groundwater development in the area prior to significant surface water development. Considerable savings to the consumer can be achieved by considering a plan for the joint development of local ground and surface waters. An aversion to the construction of the Little Dell reservoir for municipal water supply is consistently exhibited by the model applications.
