Show ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The authors wish to express their appreciation of Messrs K. M. Waddell, C. Miller, J. Olds, M. Marshall, T. Flint, R. Bay, N. Stauffer, J. Gates, C. Carpenter, J. Riley for their willingness to regularly provide inputs and data for this study, and for their efforts to educate the authors on the nature of water resource problems in Salt Lake county. The Groundwater Investigations reported on were conducted in close co- operation with the District Office of the U. S. G. S., with the help of K. M. Waddell. The Surface Water Investigations were conducted with the help of C. Miller and N. Stauffer of the Utah Division of Water Resources. The Utah Division of Water Resources also directly supported the development of the reservoir screening models and the Lower Bear River applications reported on in chapter 5. J. Olds of the Utah Division of Water Rights provided continuing input and review of the work performed. M. Marshall, R. Bay and T. Flint of the Salt Lake County Water Conservancy District also provided data for the study as well as input on problem identification and adequacy of study objectives. Ms. Santini worked on the development of a response matrix formulation for stratified aquifers ( Chapter 2) as part of her M. S. thesis. Mr. Elwell worked on the applications of a model for optimal aquifer yield determination to Salt Lake County ( Chapter 4), for his M. E. project. Ms. Iin worked on the development of a model for least cost groundwater management and its applications to Salt Lake County ( Chapter 3), for her M. S. thesis. ii |
