Show Col. Ottis M. Plant Army ROTC The Army ROTC provides a four year program for young men interested in their military future. The goal of the program is to prepare them as future leaders in the US Army. The cadets receive instruction in areas such as weapons, administration, leadership, and field training. Also, the cadets are given an opportunity to participate as members of the drill team and counter guerilla. The drill team gives the cadets a better understanding of self-discipline as well as the meaning of teamwork. Counter guerilla provides training in the art of self-defense and survival. Upon completion of the program a cadet is given a commission and the gold bars of a second lieutenant. All is not training however, as the cadets take time out for social exchanges with the Army Sponsors and events such as the Military Ball. Major Edward F, Neary Major John W. Stahlman Major Roger B.
